Somebody recently told me about the special water called Kangen on the Water To Heal site. They said it does wonders for your health and actually can heal diseases, etc. I’ve never heard of it.
Has anyone tried this water?

It is just another scam designed only to take your money and make somebody rich.
There have been various “water cures” over the years, the latest version is that ionized or alkalinized water has ill defined “healing properties”. There is absolutely no credible evidence to support this. (actually, some of them aren’t ill defined, they are quite specific and detailed….just complete nonsense.)

Water is of course necessary for life as we know it….all life. But it is involved in various homeostatic physiological processes, not fighting disease directly. Anybody who tells you differently is lying, misguided, or trying to sell you a useless product.

I’ve noticed that I have felt better drinking high alkaline water. It could be a placebo effect, but I feel that my energy is higher during those days. I want to mainly know from a scientific perspective is this the case or are people possibly trying to sell water at a higher price with a “snake oil” sales pitch. If there is evidence of this showing health benefits, what is the best alkaline water on sale? Is there a way that a home system can create purified/alkaline water at home? What is the optimal alkaline pH for water that gives the most benefit?

BTW…I drink Abita water from Louisiana. pH levels are advertised at 8 to 8.5.

The pH of water varies around the world. If there were clear health benefits of a high or a low pH on health it would show as a hot spot on an epidemiological map. I am aware of no such studies. However if it produces a good effect on you and you can obtain the product without hurting yourself cost wise go for it. People are different enough and we know little enough about health that it may work very well for you.

There are web sites selling expensive machines that ionize water and convert the PH to alkaline. Drinking this water is supposed to be healthy and cures all sorts of ailments including arthritis and cancer.

Yet, there are web sites that appear to be scientific that dispels these claims as myth. These web sites claim that there is no such thing as ionized water since basically water is water. What is the real story behind this?

I almost bought a machine until I googled on “alkaline water myth” and found a totally different viewpoint from the ones that sell these machines and almost convinced me.

Go with the scientific view point mate!! Personally I think ionised water machines are a whole load of bunk!! If you need to purify you water either buy yourself a water filter, which can be bought for as cheaply as $ 30.00AUD. They have 3 litre varieties that use the Brita filters ($ 10.00 for filter replacement) at most major department stores such as Target, K-Mart or Walmart (USA). Or you could get an upright version of the water filters you see these days in most shops and offices, I think they retail for around $ 700.00AUD or periodical payments of around $ 60.00 per month for 12 months – I got one about 2 months ago from a firm called “Awesome Water” in Australia – 1800 789 781 is the toll free number.

Failing all of that simply put 1/2 teaspoon into each glass of water you have and this will purify the water of any chemicals and impurities such as the Chlorine that some Councils put in the local water to “preserve” it … ha! Baking soda will realkalise the contents of your stomach as well and aid in digestion and elimination……. As far as ionizing water and and that bunk, nooooooooo way is there even a shred of truth in it!! ………………………. Go get yourself a little 3 litre jug first and TASTE the difference!! Please don’t invest all your hard earned pennies in something that will do nothing more than create less space and more clutter in your home!! ….:0)

Hello,
it is perhaps not the claims put forward by ogranisations whose supporters profess them repetitively, almost obsessively these days about health and other related products with health benefits that keep diseases from striking us.

Perhaps you might like to take life less seriously, and I’m not saying being ‘bo chap’ or ‘don’t care attitude’ either. Taking this approach isn’t easy either. A lot of life also isn’t ‘either-or’, ‘black-and-white’.

Slow down, a lot of life takes a lot of practice, re-practice. As for putting things into your body, do so in moderation. Cancer of the body first begins with unredeeming anger so accumulated it forms as body symptoms. Emotionally, we all have anger, so, rather than use food, drink, drug, supplements, etc(not that these are ‘bad’ either) to fix it, we find safe people, or groups, that allow appropriate sharing of sensitive issues like anger. At first, a little, then, later, we learn of dif ways to confront or asset ourselves to those we care in a timely way.

Matters of the heart cannot be left too long unattended to before it morphs into physical illness. Then again, denial is the first layer in the subconscious that is very quickly glossed over by our ‘busy-ness’.

I have been drinking alkaline water on and off for several months. I have been having terrible ball of foot pain and knee pain and more recently other joint pain- elbow, wrist. My friend suggested that it could be due to the water. I drink the 9.5 when I have it. Sometimes I drink regular bottle water and regular ice cubes as well so I really didn’t think it was to attribute to my pain. Just wondered what anyone else thought about all my pains.

Yes, it absolutely could be due to the water. Alkaline water is a scam that has seem to caught on due to some clever marketing and distribution of misinformation. The idea caught on when it became obvious it is desirable to have the internal body in an alkaline state and the outside of the body (such as on the skin & hair) to be acidic.

The problem is that the first place the water gets to when you drink it in terms of a destination, is your stomach. And what does your stomach contain? Hydrochloric acid. It is produced in the parietal cells of the stomach at an acidic level of 0.8 pH or almost pure acid. When the alkaline water enters the stomach, the acid neutralizes the alkalinity and turns the water acidic. This needs to happen because if the pH of the stomach is higher than 3.0, very little calcium, magnesium, and zinc are absorbed in the jejunum (upper part of the small intestine).

Fortunately, the amount of minerals in water is minimal and that is what regulates the pH. If you are using an ionizer to make the alkaline water and filling it with tap water, you need to think about what that means. Tap water contains all kinds of pollutants, disinfecting byproducts that are about 10,000 times more harmful than chlorine. When you ionize that water, all the ions separate and are free to recombine with any of the other elements in the water. So you end up with all kinds of very strange combinations. One free radical is generated called the OH- ion. This free radical can cross the blood brain barrier and damage the nigral cells that produce dopamine.

Alkaline water brings in hydroxides that begins to oxidize the body. In the short run, people feel better drinking alkaline water, but the long run it is not good. Japanese research has made this very clear.

Acidic water brings Hydrogen Ions into the body that the body needs. Natural spring water is around 7.0 pH or a little less and that is good water. It is a little acidic and produced in nature.

Inflammation around the joints is due to infection. The body responds to infection by creating inflammation to increase blood flow to the area. The omega 6 fatty acids create inflammation. The omega 3 fatty acids decrease inflammation. It’s important to increase your intake of omega 3 fatty acids and decrease the omega 6 fatty acids. Fat digestion plays a big part in the success or failure of addressing this inflammation problem. If you have an insufficient gallbladder or insufficient liver for any reason, you will not be digesting your fats well and this can play a big part in how your body is able to cope with infections.

Knee pain as you have described it, can be attributed to kidney insufficiency. This is very common in America today. Dehydration is the number one deficiency. The average person needs water at the following rate:

Take your total body weight and divide by 2. That number is the amount of water in ounces that you need to drink each and everyday. Along with that, you should consume 1/4 teaspoon of “air dried sea salt” in conjunction with each quart of water you drink. This puts the electrolytes in your body that will give you proper hydration. The typical white table salt you buy in stores like the Morton Salt, for instance, is terrible for you and has loads of chemicals added. Avoid that junk. If you drink ANY diuretic drinks like, sodas, coffee, tea, alcohol, commercially prepared fruit drinks, energy drinks, etc., these all dehydrate you and you will need to add more water to the total to compensate for the water loss due to these diuretic drinks. Take the total ounces of the diuretic drinks and multiply by 1.5 and add that total to the original total to come up with the proper amount of water you need to drink each day.

alkaline water will damage your intestines and your tissue , alkalis dissolve human tissue and can cause all kinds of internal problems, the human body is predominantly acidic, as in my other answer you are asking for trouble if you ingest any amount of alkaline substances long term

There are in fact benefits in drinking bottled alkaline water. Our diets consist of so many acidic foods that throw our pH balance off. This makes our kidneys and lymph system vulnerable to bacteria and micro-organisms because of the acidic levels in our body. Other issues such as, our environment, stressors, and lifestyle can also contribute to an acidic pH level.

Alkaline bottled water with a pH of at least eight to nine is the best choice. Alkaline water will aid in weight loss by reducing cravings because it will make you feel thirsty and lead you to drink more water. This increased water intake will make you feel fuller, and most of the time when we think we are hungry, we are actually just dehydrated. Also, with the extra hydration, the body will maintain a normal and healthy blood flow.

Other health benefits of alkaline bottled water are to reduced digestion issues and asthma symptoms. This water will also aid in the removal of harmful toxins from our body. These toxins can aid free radicals in damaging our cells. Additionally, our body loose approximately over a half gallon of fluids a day and this bottled water will help replenish the minerals we lose.

Granted I’m going on what was submitted, I don’t know if you’re using any graphics for the rate at which particular particles are filtered from the water that may be harmful to the plant(s), but other than what I’ve just read, I’d say it’s actually really well written and put together.
