What is the side effect on drinking Alkaline water?

I have Crohn Disease!! I have been doing a very detail research on the Alkaline Water. It seems that is worthy to try on. I started drinking the Alkaline water three days ago, only 4 oz a day with full stomach. However, it gives me a great deal of cramping and flare up. Is anyone of you have this kind of side effect? Should I continue to drink the water? Is that normal, and it will go away?
I know you will spend alot of time on the toilet from alkoline water I do not know that it would be good for you with your disease you may try smaller amounts to see if that helps you but people who injest alkoline water report the very same symptoms
