I heard about this stuff called Kangen Water that is supposed to be way good for you. Any experiences?

A buddy of mine is always toting around a jug of this water that he makes with a machine he bought into that allows you to adjust the Ph and stuff, I guess you can make it really acidic or basic? Is this just some snake oil machine that he has and wasted 4 grand on, or is this the real deal? He seems healthier and has lost some weight, I dunno. Seems like it could be placebo effect?
